No matter which program you're working in, you'll need to get your file into an MPEG2 format; this is the only format that the DVD specification allows. If you're working in Flash, AfterEffects, Premiere or another 2D, 3D or video-editing program, you'll need to get it into a format that either Final Cut Pro or Compressor reads. These two programs will then output the file as an MPEG2. The QuickTime movie format is the most reliable format to use. You may also be able to output MPEG2 files from your program, but I have seen some conflicts or errors with those files once they're brought into DVDSP. To output a file from Flash, you need to output a QuickTime movie file. To do this, follow these steps: Step 1. Go to the Publish Settings option under File to open the settings.
Step 3. Exit this dialogue box and go to File>Export>movie. Step 4. In the Save as Type dialogue box choose QuickTime movie. Then name your file and output. This will be saved as a QuickTime movie. The interactivity will remain in the QuickTime file. However, once you bring it into Final Cut Pro or compress it to MPEG2 you will lose that interactivity. NOTE: Flash on the Mac allows you to output the file as QuickTime Video. Then you can choose an appropriate codec in the Compressor dropdown menu. You can choose Animation or DV/DVCPRO - NTSC video depending on the features of original Flash project. You will not retain interactivity if you output it as a QuickTime Video.
