#6
1. Copy the folder 005 DVD Masks from Scarlett to your hard drive. This folder has several image files in it and a MS Word document. 2. Create a New Photoshop document, choosing the correct setup (NEW>(PRESET)DV NTSC 720X480 With guides). 3. You should bring in the Flatscene.psd file as a reference file for your design. 7. Use the selection tool to create a mask, using boxes or circles to create windows for the smaller photos. 8. Save the selection by going to Selection>Save Selection. You will need to name this selection -- call it scene mask. You will save the selection in the Channel and then edit it and load it back into the Photoshop image.
9. Edit the mask by going into the Channel and holding down the option+command keys while selecting the selection. This will let you copy the selection two times for your mask.
11. While this is still selected, you then want to go back to the Layers Palette and click on the Layer Mask button to create the layer mask. The mask will be created from your selection in the Channel. Make sure you have the background selected before you click on the Layer Mask button at the bottom of the Layers Palette. 12. If you have done the steps properly, you should see three windows that currently expose the background.
13. The next steps involved scaling down the other images and then dragging them into these windows. They will be on layers underneath the layer mask layer. 14. Click on the layer with the crocodile image. You are going to scale this down (make it 25% its current size) by using the Transform Tool. 15. Go to Edit>Transform>Scale. You should type in 25% in the options box. Make sure that you link the Width and Height so they scale at the same rate. The image should scale down to 25 percent its original size. Use the move tool to position the image.
16. Follow these steps with the Marine Mammal and Horns images.
