#12 - Creating Subtitles
1. Copy the ASS12_Subtitle folder from the network to the user folder>M133 on your hard drive. 2. Open up the 07_Swiss_start DVDSP project. 3. Put your playhead at 00:00:49:00 and add the subtitle: Lucerne, Chapel Bridge. 4. Put in the next subtitle at 1:28:00. That subtitle should read: Chateau Chillon, Vaud. 5. Both subtitles are too long. Shorten them to adjust to the correct length that the image is on screen. 6. Simulate to see if this works. 7. Modify the font and color of the subtitles to suit your tastes. Don't forget to Apply to Stream after you do the first one so you don't have to do them both manually. 8. Import English subtitles in Subtitle Track 2 (S2) from the file: Swiss_Subtitles_English.txt from the Media>Swiss>Swiss_Docs folder. 9. Set the language for these subtitles as English in the Language pop-up menu. 10. Import the German subtitles in S3 (that file is in the same folder). 11. Set the subtitle stream to German in the language pop-up. Add a button graphic 1. Add the graphic sealionoverlay.psd as a button. (Don't forget to place the two Highlight Button markers, create the "subtitle" area before you add the graphic or text). 2. Create a button on top of the overlay. 3. Set normal, selected and activated state colors. 4. Link the button to the main menu. Save the project in your directory in the studentwork folder on the server. |
