Assignment #11 - Creating Links


The goal is to create a web link from The Web Site button on the Special Features menu and then link DVD-ROM content from the Teachers' Guide button.

1. Copy the ASSIGN11_Links folder from the network to the user folder>M133 on your hard drive.

2. Start a new DVD project and bring in the three menus from the Links folder: specialfeaturesflat.psd, weblinkpageflat.psd, teacherpageflat.psd.

3. Create the first menu with the Specialfeaturesflat.psd and set the overlay layer, draw the buttons and set colors on all the button areas.

4. Create menus out of the other two files.

5. Link the The Web Site button to the weblinkpageflat.psd menu.

6. Set the weblinkpageflat.psd to link to my web site: http://www.bethcataldo.com.

7. Set a transition between the The Web Site button and the web link menu.

8. Set up the web link menu to return to the Special Features menu after 5 seconds.

9. Simulate to see if this works.

  • Set the preferences in DVDSP to accept DVD@ccess links?
  • Set the preferences in your DVD player to accept DVD@ccess links?


Add DVD-ROM content to your disc

1. Link the The Teachers' Guide button to the teacherspageflat.psd menu.

2. Set the teacherspageflat.psd menu to link to the dvdrom content.

3. Set up the teacherpageflat.psd menu to return to the Special Features menu after five seconds.

4. Go to the Disc Inspector

5. Set up the DVD-ROM content to include the folder dvdrom (found in the links folder) and don't forget to check the Joliet Extension Support.

Save the entire project in your directory in the studentwork folder on the server.
