In-class exercise #1
  1. Create a flowchart of the DVD that I provide you.

  2. You can use any program that works for you: MS Word, Flash, Omnigraffle, or Excel.

    Goal: Study the options of navigating a DVD. Understand how to visualize and flowchart the content.

    Here's a cheatsheet for drawing flowcharts in MS-Word

  3. Use the photocopies of the storyboards to analyze two menus that you look at in the DVD.

    Break down the DVD into the elements that it took to make the menu (i.e., Photoshop document, FCP movie, Flash movie, Photoshop file, Aftereffects).
    Indicate where the buttons navigate to, what type of transition is begin used.

  4. Hand in all three documents.
